Before your first tournament
No. Golfers can register, view the event page, schedule and standings, and even enter scores in a browser without installing anything. The free Golf Pad app makes scoring even easier, with live scoring right from each golfer’s phone. Paper scorecards work too, and scores can be entered afterwards.
Stroke play, Stableford, Modified Stableford, Best Ball, Scramble, Chapman, and Alternate Shot — played gross or net, with side games. Handicaps follow the World Handicap System. Automatic Handicap Index lookup through the USGA is a Pro feature, available in the USA and Mexico. Golf Pad Events may not support highly unusual scoring mechanics.
Golf Pad Events is free for single-day events with up to 100 golfers, including registration, scheduling, standings, the public event page, mailouts, and the live standings screen. Pro costs $499 a year and adds multi-day tournaments, automatic flights, leagues across a season, unlimited field size, entry fees collected through PayPal, printed scorecards and cart signs, automatic USGA Handicap Index lookup, and sponsor placement.
Golf Pad Events can run a one-off charity tournament, including sponsor placement and the tournament itself. However, it does not provide tools for collecting donations or managing fundraising.
Golf Pad Events Agent connects through MCP, an open protocol that lets compatible AI assistants interact with external tools. It can work with assistants such as Claude and ChatGPT.
The assistant can help set up an event, register golfers, arrange tee times, publish standings, and send mailouts. It’s currently in early access and not generally available yet. You can join the early access list on this page.
You need an AI assistant that supports MCP and a few minutes to add the connector. Claude includes one custom connector on its free plan, while ChatGPT requires a paid subscription for custom connectors. Setting it up from your phone can be the quickest option.
The Agent is optional — you can still set up and manage your events entirely in the browser.
No. The Agent works with the free plan. What it can do depends on your Golf Pad Events plan: Pro features such as multi-day events, flights, and leagues are available through the Agent only with Pro, just as they are in the browser.
